Day 6 - Travel Day to Agra, India

Day 6 - Monday, January 22nd - Travel Day to Agra, India

Today was mostly a Travel Day, 6 hours... But don't worry, I still have plenty of pics to share...

Here is one of my favorite pics of the trip. We started out at the Monkey Palace before we left. I had already been there, but TashM really wanted to go there. I was more than happy to. Besides, now I would have someone to protect me from the scary big black bull!!!!!

Here is a pic TashM took of me and the Palace. It was REALLY cool there!!!!!

TashM thought it would be funny on the way out to walk REALLY SLOW by the BIG BLACK BULL. I didn't think it was funny, nor did I want to walk slow. I BOLTED as fast as I could back to the taxi, she decided to take a picture. The small white cow I passed on the way out barely saw me walk, OK DART, by!!!!

Here is the next spot we visited. I don't really remember the name of it to be honest. I think it was "Fathepr Sikri". It was OK. The young guy followed us around the entire time telling us all about the place. We told him NO MONEY, as that is what they do. They follow you as your tour guide and want money at the end. After we told him a TON of times that we weren't offering any money for a tour, he said "I understand, I am a student, I don't want money. Our class is here to do this." We agreed to have him tag along, but re-emphisized NO MONEY!!!!

This is a cool hallway shot.

This was a wall that had string tied on it. Each string represented a wish. Supposedly if you made a wish and tied a string on this wall your wish came true "100%". It cost money to do. We didn't do it.

Here is a pic of me at one of the many lunch stops we made on our travel days. Now these resturants, for the normal USA resturant, was not expensive per say. However, for India, it was WAY OVER PRICED!!!! I normally got Nan and Tea for lunch. These were part of our "required stops" where the taxi driver and hotel got a percentage of what we spent. Not to mention there was a GUY in the womens bathroom when we got out of our bathroom stalls. He was there to hand us papertowels to dry our hands and wanted money for it. WHAT?!?!?!? You are a guy in the girls bathroom dude... NO!!! GET OUT!!!!
We FINALLY got to our hotel after a very LONG and CRAZY ride. "Welcome to the SCARIEST HOTEL EVER!!!!!!" is what the sign should have read!!!!! It said that it had a gym... nope. It said that it had an "Open Air Resturant", it was a lawn with tables and chairs that barely stayed up right. It said it had a swimming pool...

NO WATER!!!!...

NOPE... NO WATER!!!!!
We decided to go to dinner as we were VERY hungry. We were told that the area we were in was not that safe, so we HAD to eat at the hotel. GROSS!!!! The food was HORRIBLE!!!! But none the less, it was eatable. We didn't eat in the "Open Air Resturant", we ate inside.
After dinner we went back to our SCARY ROOM!!!! Neither of us were tired, and we needed to occupy some time, so I busted out my face masks that I brought for just this kind of occasion.
Here is TashM...

And here am I...

I decided to be funny, and TashM didn't know... hehehehehe Let's try again...

There we go!!!! FUNNY GIRLS!!!!
We wore ourselves out laughing and attempted bed. Little did we know what was soon to follow. EXPLOSIONS!!! NO JOKE!!!! We were in bed by 9:30pm'ish. Before 10pm, there were sounds of explosions!!! Not small ones and NOT far away... REALLY BIG AND LOUD EXPLOSIONS THAT SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW!!!!! I have never screamed so loud and jumped so far. It was more scary than the "snake charmer" and the "big black bull" and DEFINITELY more scary than the "pigeon" incident. It happened a couple of times and then we started to smell smoke!!!! It did stop, but we went to bed petrified!!!! I sure did say my prayers a little extra that night!!!!
Tomorrow was the TAJ!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!
Just to keep with tradition, yes TashM had "Jaipur Belly" again... POOR POOR TashM!!!!
