Gyeongbokgung Palace & "The Hoedown"

Hello everyone!!! Here are some pics from my street "edutainment" and an amazing and beautiful palace I visited, Gyeongbokgung Palace. Enjoy...
Here is a picture of the outside of Gyeongbokgung Palace. That is me in the bottom right corner... talk about feeling small!!! More pics of the palace after the hoedown pics. Sorry it is not all together, but "blogger" is being difficult right now.

My hoedown group... Guitar Girdy, Cowboy Carl and Dancin' Darla!!! (Jazz, Matthew and me) This is what we call "street edutainment". We go out in different styles with different ways of entertainment and teach. In our group, we sing country-like songs with simple English with the kids and visitors. LOTS of repetition. Repetition is the key!!! SO much fun!!!

Some of the cuteness that we see here on a regular basis!!!

I stopped a class for a pic of this cute little thing!!! Don't you just LOVE those glasses!!! He's like a little Korean Harry Potter!!!

Here are two little girls that wanted a pic with me after one of our shows... SO cute!!!

This is just one example of the crowds that we get for our hoedown group. This day it was POURING rain and FREEZING outside. Yet, they still come. Standing out in the rain and cold to see our hoedown group perform!!! Can I get a YEE-HAA!!!

OK... so here are some more pics of Gyeongbokgung Palace. This day we could not have had more perfect timing with arriving. As we were walking up to the palace, they were doing their changing of the guards ceremony... AMAZING!!!

This is the inside of the main hall of the palace. This is "where the King conducted state affairs, held official functions, and received foreign envoys."

This was a meditation area for the Queen... BEAUTIFUL!!!

"I know you want to look at me... Come on... Do it!!!!"

As hard as I tried, he wouldn't!!! Not even a smile!!!!! I must be loosing my touch!!!! HA!!! Yeah right!!! They are actually not allowed too. In the olden days, if they looked at anyone or moved from their post, they were killed. Today it is not that extreme, but they probably would get fired. Just FYI, the part about "they were killed", I don't know if that is a fact, I was just told that. And the "get fired" part, I just told myself that because I didn't want to think that any of them could be killed for sneezing or looking at someone. I can not tell a lie!!! But did you notice that I found the tallest soldier and choose him for the picture with me!!! hehehe I can ALWAYS find the tall ones... ALWAYS!!!

OK, that is all for now. Hope you all enjoyed these. Wish you could all be here to experience this with me. Know that you are always in my heart and prayers!!! I love you all dearly!!! Stay well...

UNICEF Benefit

Well, as some know and some don't, we had a benefit concert on Saturday, September 9th to help raise money for UNICEF. Needless to say, it was a hit!!! We raised an awesome amount for UNICEF!!!! "CHEERS!" to all who helped make this night possible. Here are some pics of me from the benefit... Enjoy!!!

Lynn and I singing the duet "I Still Believe" from the hit musical Miss Saigon...
Mom, I think this might just be your favorite! hehehe

Just a cool shot with my amazing accompanist and friend, Andrea. Thanks girlee!!!

OK, I do LOVE the spotlight... I confess. (Always have! hehehe)

Singing "For Every Child" with Davey. This is a song that Simon Pike and myself wrote just for the UNICEF Benefit Concert. You may remember Simon as my partner in crime... We wrote the opening day ceremonies song for English Village ("Welcome to English Village") that opened the park. A wonderfully talented guy!!! We make a GREAT team!!!

All for an amazing cause!

Many thanks to all that helped make this happen!!!! Cheers!!!!
